Chinese democracy activist disappeared again after wave of protests against illegal election

Prominent Chinese election activist Yao Lifa at Hubei province in the centre of China, supposed to be house arrested again after a wave of massive protest against the illegal election.

Yao Lifa left home for the primary school to work at 1 pm on Oct 31st, and was not seen until then. At 8:20 pm on Oct 31st, his wife received a short SMS send from Yao's mobile with simply 2 words take care. Mrs. Yao called back soon after she received the SMS, but only heard somebody said shut down the cell phone, and the phone call was cut. Nobody answers Mr. Yao's phone after that whenever different people called that even his phone could still be reached. Mr. Yao Lifa is supposed to under house arrest again by the local authority.

Yao, a vocal defender of civil rights and a veteran democracy activist, has suffered frequent house arrest in the past few years when the local authority takes him responsible for the rights defender's movement.

The time Mr. Yao disappeared is a sticking point of local village level elections. Lots of petition and protest are going on because of the illegal election controlled by the local authority. Mr. Yao assisted these villages for a democratic election, and disclosure the truth and facts how local government intervene the election. What Yao had done for a real election, is supposed to be the reason why he was disappeared at this time and was disappeared again.

Yao's family and his friends are calling for the local authority to respect the rule of law, and give freedom back to Yao as soon as possible.
